Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce

Powered by Community: Thank You for a 4th of July in Yellow Springs to Remember

Each year, Yellow Springs comes alive with the colors, sounds, and spirit of the 4th of July. But this year’s Parade and Fireworks Community Celebration was something truly extraordinary. The incredible support from local businesses, organizations, and individual community members showed what’s possible when people come together with a shared purpose.

Communities thrive when individuals are offered meaningful opportunities to invest in their future. Research shows that when residents actively participate in community efforts; through time, resources, or leadership – social cohesion strengthens, local pride deepens, and economic vitality often follows. The 2025 celebration is a shining example of that kind of investment.

Stretching approximately half a mile, this year’s parade travelled through the heart of the village, bursting with energy and tradition. Youth groups marched with pride, alumni reunited in joyful celebration, and local businesses showcased their community spirit. It wasn’t just a parade; it was a living display of pride and joy from organizations and individuals alike.

“It’s inspiring to see the level of support from our community,” said Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Phillip O’Rourke.

“This event represents who we are, and we hope to see that spirit continue with ongoing
investment so this celebration never has to face uncertainty.”

At Gaunt Park that evening, the celebration reached new heights. As fireworks lit up the night sky, the faces of young people glowed in awe. Adults stood in line for ice cream under the stars, the soft murmur of conversation blending with laughter and music. Magical doesn’t begin to describe the experience. It was timeless and unforgettable.

This celebration came together because the community responded with heart and action. After the Chamber put out a clear and specific call for support, the public responded in a tangible and encouraging way. With a fundraising goal of $10,000, Yellow Springs residents, organizations and businesses gave an impressive $8,989. That response shows just how deeply this event is valued by the community.

Thank You
The Yellow Springs Chamber extends our heartfelt thanks to this year’s donors/sponsors and the dedicated event partners who helped make this year’s 4th of July celebration a joyful and safe success: the Village of Yellow Springs Public Works, the Yellow Springs Police Department, Miami Township Fire & Rescue, parade coordination by Mark Heise and the YS Scooter Group, and of course, the talented musicians of our community band. Your time, energy, and collaboration made this celebration one to remember.
