New “Shop Local, Earn More” Partnership Strengthening Community and Commerce
The Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce is excited to support a new initiative, created in partnership with Bridge Credit Union and the Yellow Springs Community Foundation, designed to strengthen the local economy and enrich community life. Launching November 24, 2025, this program offers shoppers in Yellow Springs an opportunity to earn rewards and/or support non-profit organizations while keeping dollars circulating within the village, reinforcing the connections between residents, businesses, and the nonprofits that make Yellow Springs unique.
This program provides two rewarding pathways for shoppers. Through the Debit Card Round Up option, shoppers can choose to round up their Bridge Credit Union debit card purchases and donate the extra change directly to a local nonprofit. Enrollment takes place easily through online banking or the mobile app.
The Credit Card Rewards feature provides bonus cashback on all purchases made at Yellow Springs businesses using a Bridge Credit Union credit card. In addition to the shopper’s reward, Bridge Credit Union will donate 1 percent of every qualifying Yellow Springs purchase to a nonprofit in the community. Participation requires no additional sign up, making it simple for anyone to give back just by choosing to shop locally.
Strengthening the local economy begins with the decision to spend money at home. Each purchase made within Yellow Springs, Ohio (45387 ZIP) keeps dollars circulating locally and provides direct support to the businesses that power the unique character of Yellow Springs. The added incentive of increased cashback rewards reinforces the real and immediate value of choosing to shop, dine, and explore within the village. Residents can take comfort in knowing that their everyday activity has measurable impact whether they are donating their spare change or receiving rewards for shopping locally.
This effort adds tangible value to the local shopping experience. Most people want to give back or support local businesses, and this initiative provides a clear, direct way to do both. At the same time, it rewards shoppers while reinforcing the economic vitality of our community, demonstrating how commerce and community impact can grow together.

As a new opportunity to make a difference, it also empowers residents by giving them more choice in how their dollars influence the community. Whether someone donates their round-up total, uses cashback to support a local business, or saves it for future needs, the program confirms that every purchase has purpose. It strengthens the sense of collective participation that defines Yellow Springs and supports nonprofits that contribute greatly to the cultural, social, and economic vitality of the area.
In addition to benefiting residents, this initiative also welcomes participation from neighboring visitors who come to Yellow Springs throughout the year. As people travel to the village to enjoy its nature trails, shops, restaurants, and events, their local spending becomes another avenue of community support. Visitors can take pride in knowing that their purchases can help bolster nonprofit programs and strengthen the village economy, deepening their connection to a place they enjoy and often return to. This expands the circle of support beyond village limits and encourages ongoing engagement from those who appreciate and care for the community.
Thriving local communities grow from collaboration, generosity, and shared values. This partnership with Bridge Credit Union and the Yellow Springs Community Foundation reflects that belief and positions everyday spending as a powerful tool for economic and social investment. As we move into the holiday season and beyond, we encourage everyone to shop local, earn more, and give back in ways that make a meaningful difference.
Together, we continue building a Yellow Springs where people, businesses, nonprofits, and even visiting friends all contribute to a thriving and connected community.
